Why Try Physical Therapy?

Why Try Physical Therapy?
November 26, 2019adminphysical therapy

Do you suffer from back pain? If so, you’re not alone! The American Chiropractic Association estimates that some 31 million Americans suffer from low back pain at any given time.

So, what are your treatment options? At Cape Fear Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, we like to take a non-invasive approach whenever possible. The first line of treatment for back pain is often physical therapy.

When you visit one of our offices on Ferncreek, Ramsey Street, and Raeford Road, you’ll find that our physical therapists combine set exercises with patient education. Our goal is to empower you to take charge or your journey through physical therapy to support your own recovery!

How Will a Physical Therapist Help Me?

At Cape Fear Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, we have physical therapists available for appointments at each of our three locations in Ferncreek, Ramsey Street, and Raeford Road. Our physical therapists will help you manage your pain and improve mobility by developing a program unique to your needs.

Your physical therapy appointment will include a series of exercises, stretches, and other secondary techniques required on an individual basis. These can include treatments such as manipulation, massage, and more.

Results have shown that while these techniques feel good to the patient at the time, they do not produce the same level of long-lasting recovery as the strengthening and conditioning exercises your physical therapist prescribes. For this reason, it is important that you perform these exercises with the aid and instruction of your physical therapist for best results!

If you’re ready to say goodbye to pain, our Ferncreek, Ramsey Street, and Raeford Road locations all offer Physical Therapy! Ask your health insurance representative if your coverage includes self-referral. Give us a call today at 910-484-2171. We look forward to helping you manage your pain and mobility!
