Joint Injections

Joint injections are a non-invasive treatment option where medication in injected directly into the damaged or injured joint. This can reduce inflammation, improve range of motion, and provide pain relief.

Botox

Botox is the best known of a group of medications that use various forms of botulinum toxin to temporarily paralyze muscle activity. Botulinum toxin works by blocking the transmission of certain chemical signals that relay information between nerves and the brain. Botox injections into arthritic joints appear to reduce pain and improve function.

Epidural Steroid Injections

An epidural steroid injection (ESI) is a minimally invasive procedure that can help relieve neck, arm, back, and leg pain caused by inflamed spinal nerves due to spinal stenosis or disc herniation. Epidural steroid injections are a common treatment for neck and back pain. These injections work by controlling the inflammatory response from chemical and mechanical sources of pain such as a pinched nerve or a degenerated disc. They also reducing the activity of the immune system to decrease the production of inflammatory cells in the body.

Nerve Blocks

A nerve block is an anesthetic and/or anti-inflammatory injection targeted toward a certain nerve or group of nerves to treat pain. The purpose of the injection is to “turn off” a pain signal coming from a specific location in the body or to decrease inflammation in that area.

Viscosupplementation Treatment

is an injection of a fluid called hyaluronic acid into a joint, most commonly the knee or shoulder. In this procedure, a gel-like fluid called hyaluronic acid is injected into the knee joint. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the synovial fluid surrounding joints. It acts as a lubricant to enable bones to move smoothly over each other and as a shock absorber for joint loads.

Hymovis

HYMOVIS®, a new therapy recently approved by the FDA, is a thick, gel-like solution that acts like a lubricant and shock absorber in the knee joint. For many patients HYMOVIS® injections may provide up to six months of relief from osteoarthritis knee pain.

Gel One

Gel-One Hyaluronate is indicated for the treatment of pain in osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in patients who have failed to respond adequately to non-pharmacologic therapy, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or simple analgesics, e.g., acetaminophen.

Gelsyn

GELSYN-3 is indicated for the treatment of pain in osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in patients who have failed to respond adequately to conservative non-pharmacologic therapy and simple analgesics, e.g., acetaminophen.
