ARTHRITIS AND JOINT INJECTIONS

ARTHRITIS AND JOINT INJECTIONS
May 24, 2021adminFayetteville NCNewsOrthopedicOsteoporosisphysical therapysports medicine

According to the CDC, 23% of all adults, or more than 54 million people, have a form of arthritis, and this number is expected to rise to more than 78 million by 2040. Whether your joint pain is from an injury or arthritis, the goal is to get back to pain-free movement.

At Cape Fear Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, our team of musculoskeletal experts understands the widespread impact that joint pain can have on your life. To restore mobility and get back to pain-free movement, we can help with one of our many injection therapies. Injections can help by blocking the pain or even healing the damaged tissue.

INJECTIONS FOR BLOCKING PAIN

Joint injections are a non-invasive treatment option where medication is injected directly into the damaged or injured joint. This can reduce inflammation, improve range of motion, and provide pain relief.

If you are experiencing joint pain that is affecting your ability to function you have the option of corticosteroid injections, which can provide pain relief and treat inflammation. Corticosteroid injections contain a steroid, an anti-inflammatory and an anesthetic, working in combination to relieve your pain.

This solution can give long lasting joint pain relief, allowing you the time to figure out the underlying cause of the problem.

Other types of injections for pain we offer are:

  •   Botox
  •   Epidural Steroid Injections
  •   Nerve Blocks
  •   Viscosupplementation Treatment
  •   Hymovis
  •   Gel One
  •   Gelsyn

HEALING DAMAGED TISSUE

Regenerative medicine is a means of encouraging the healing and repair of damaged tissue. We can do this through adipose fat injections or lipogems injections. Lipogems injections take the body’s fat (adipose tissue) and provide cushioning and support to areas of injury while the body heals itself. Due to the fatty properties, Lipogems Injections tend to stay in the damaged area allowing the body to maximize the benefits of the reparative cells found in your fat, minimizing pain and improving daily functioning.
